Awaking Prophecy
Recently I had the chance to film the first video for Melbourne based Death Metal act ‘The Ophidian Ascension’. Making the most of Magic Lantern’s new raw capability, I decided to use it for the shooting and shot the whole production in a combination of 24fps and 60fps. All footage was captured on a 128gb KomputerBay memory card. Two versions are available below, YouTube and Vimeo. I recommend the Vimeo one if you want the true clarity and colour I selected as YouTube seems to mute some of the tones.

A Stone Face of Piety – A Short Film for The Schoenberg Automaton
We prevailed in the bushlands of hot and sweaty Queensland for two days and nights to create the video for ‘A Stone Face of Piety’. My latest work for The Schoenberg Automaton. This is the most elaborate and intricate work I have completed to date, along with being my personal favourite video as I was allowed to develop and create the entire concept from scratch. Along with this we needed to create 3rd Person Snorri rigs along with classic Snorri setups to get the desired shots. This City and Fights
Old video, but never got around to linking it on here. I’ll be posting a couple of these over the next week or so.
Filming was done at two locations across Brisbane. One being the always amazing Sun Distortion Studios (where the performance was filmed) and the other being an abandoned warehouse district on the Northside of town. Pretty stoked with the results, though I would have loved to have had more time to match the colour between the wide angle Tokina 11-16mm and the Zeiss T Planar 50mm f1.4.
Camera was a Canon 7D. Manfrotto, Express35.com and Jag35.com gear was used for supports.
