When it Rains, it Pours
It’s a boring rainy day in Brisbane, so I figured why not get the camera out and play around with capturing water hitting leaves. I don’t know what it is about this but I find the whole task relaxing. Lazy days.
Gear used:
– Canon 7D
– Zeiss 50mm T*Planar
– Zeiss 35mm Jena Flektagon
– Amaran Halo
– 1000watt work light

We Stand with A Stone Face
Deep in the wild lands of Queensland, Australia disturbing things are happening. Through my ever vigilant lens I followed the confrontational journey of one man. This is the story of Jake Gerstle and his adventure into the ever encompassing presence that is The Schoenberg Automaton. These stills are silent documentation of events that occurred.

The Princess Bride – A Beautiful Day for a Wonderful Wedding
In late December I had the chance to photograph a lovely union in perfect Queensland summer weather. With the weather being so good we took to the Parklands at Gardens Point and the fun began.
The following shots were taken using:
Canon 7D
Zeiss Flektagon 35mm f2.4
Zeiss T*Planar 50mm f1.4
Tokina 11-16mm f2.8
Schneider Optics Filters

Notre, a night to remember
Notre (Brisbane Post Hardcore)
I recently did a shoot for a close friend and photography pals show at Fat Louie’s (rad rad rad bar and always free for live music). All shots are Canon 7D, Zeiss 50 T Planar f1.4, @f1.4 ISO800.
It was beyond dark in the venue, and while I say it’s a great place to see music, it’s a photographers worst nightmare with pink, green, and dull fluro mixing to create a pastiche of miss focuses, shutter speed issues and general difficulty seeing through the viewfinder.
But… above all things it’s always great to try and challenge yourself. In this case, manual lens, low f stop, long shutter and a high ISO.

Into the Hadal Maw
The following is a set of stills from my next video, for Melbourne based act, Hadal Maw…
